As introduced in the previous post, the Jupiter System allows the implementation of many different use cases, by benefit from the high level of HW expandability given by the MikroBUS specification (which allows the system to be connected to more than 1000 click board already present on the market) in conjunction with the flexibility given by the RPi SW ecosystem.
In this post we will show 10 different use cases that can be implemented using Jupiter System, click boards and additional hardware where needed.
1. Home Automation: using a Jupiter board and one of the relay click boards, the Jupiter System can be turned in an smart home controller. There are up to 4 different solutions of click boards using relays. A display can be connected as well to have also a user interface. Or, eventually, a smartphone connected via WiFi can be used as HMI.
2. Air Quality Station: using the various click gas concentration sensors (CO2, NH3, etc..) and a PM 2.5 and PM10 sensor connected to the UART port (SDS011) port is possible to build a complete Air Quality station, that can be then remotized using various techniques (just to make an example using node-red dashboard).
3. Gas detection system: using a Jupiter board in conjunction with a click gas sensor board you can create a gas detection system with email or WhatsApp/Telegram alert notification.
4. Alchol Tester: using a Jupiter board with an alcohol sensor click board you can build a simple alcohol tester. Adding a display you can provide a visual output to the user with also suggested behavior (you can safely go home, pay attention, don’t drink any further, leave your car keys to a sober friend). The board can be arranged in a final boxed setup for restaurants or pubs.
4. Rover: using a Jupiter board plus motor and servo control click boards allow you to build a rover that may be controlled via WiFi using a smartphone. Adding a Pi camera (and eventually a display) the setup can be turned in a telepresence robot. In fact the Jupiter system can turn a rover frame into a really good robotic platform.
6. Meteo Station: using one of the Jupiter board in conjunction with some of the click environmental sensor board (temperature, humidity, barometric pression, etc…) you can build a quite sophisticated wheatear station with web interface.
7. LED Matrix Clock: using the Matrix RGB click you can interface the Jupiter system with LED matrix display. Several applications can be developed from this starting point, like a LED matrix clock, for example.
8. ECG Instrument: using a Jupiter board (possibly with a display interface) and an ECG3 click is possible to build and ECG monitoring instrumentation.
9. GreenHouse Monitoring System: using a Jupiter board and some environmental click you can build a greenhouse monitoring system. Adding some relay click you can also automate some actuation inside the greenhoud based on the processed input data.
10. Intrusion Detection: using a PIR click board the Jupiter System can be turned in an intrusion detection system. Adding a camera and a GSM/GPRS interface the system can automatically make a call or send an email with camera shoot.
Several other use cases are also possible, this doesn't want to be a complete list, but rather a short guideline that want to give an idea of the almost countless possibilities that the Jupiter System can offer to developers and makers.
